Compact and midsized sedans are still a smart and popular choice for many consumers, even with the popularity of SUVs. Sedans effectively blend fuel economy, passenger room, cargo space, and flexibility into a package that’s also more enjoyable to drive than the average SUV. And the hybrid versions are even better than their conventionally powered siblings in almost every way.
As Consumer Reports’ auto experts have seen in testing, hybrid versions of vehicles generally accelerate quicker when starting up from a stop, they’re quicker, and they’re quieter in normal driving and when accelerating.
