Lincoln Aviators Are Recalled to Fix Backup Camera
Phone interference can cause a distorted or flickering image
For some Lincoln Aviator owners, there’s yet another reason not to use a phone while driving.
Lincoln is recalling more than 109,000 Aviator SUVs from the 2020 through 2024 model years because their backup camera may flicker or show a distorted image due to electromagnetic interference from a cell phone.
Lincoln Aviator Backup Camera Recall Details
Vehicles recalled: Lincoln Aviator SUVs manufactured between Oct. 19, 2018, and April 25, 2024.
The problem: The vehicle’s Accessory Protocol Image Module (APIM) may be susceptible to electromagnetic interference from cell phones. This could cause the image to flicker or not display properly.
The fix: Lincoln dealerships will add additional electromagnetic shielding to the APIM, free of charge.
