    Audi Q3 Road Test
    Introduction

The Q3 is a pleasant SUV that packs luxury, style, and practicality into a small package. It successfully melds traditional Audi qualities such as meticulous, yet understated interior design, handling agility, and a solid feel. As such, it ranks high among its bantam luxury SUV peers.

Unlike the previous generation, the infotainment system now uses a touchscreen and is easier to use. In addition, the driving position is much improved and the rear seat now slides fore-aft, optimizing passenger room versus cargo space.

The turbocharged 228-hp, 2.0-liter four-cylinder is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. That powertrain supplies prompt acceleration but engine sound can be a bit raspy. Fuel economy, at 23 mpg overall is not a standout in the class, but it takes regular as opposed to premium required by most other competitors. All-wheel drive is standard.

Handling is responsive and confidence inspiring, which makes the little Audi enjoyable to drive. The ride has an underlying firmness, yet it is reasonably comfortable and has an edge over its competitors.

Fit and finish is very good and the seats are excellent, providing all-day comfort and support. Even the rear seat is roomy. Controls are straight forward compared to other competitors but there are a few quirks that might take some getting used to, such as the likely confusion of the fan speed and audio volume. Oddly, a heated steering wheel is not available on any trim.

Advanced safety features include standard forward collision warning (FCW), automatic emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, blind spot warning and rear cross traffic warning.

    Summary

    Best Version to Get

The base Premium trim comes well-equipped. But we would pair it with the more powerful 228-hp engine.
