Testing and reporting on cars for Consumer Reports is a team effort. All year long, we have engineers, technicians, editors, analysts, admins, videographers, and a photographer collaborating to bring our readers comprehensive assessments on new cars in order to help them be smarter shoppers.
We all drive the cars in the test fleet and come together to produce the ratings and rankings our readers rely on. But opinions are like belly buttons—everyone has one—so for this episode, we wrap up the end of the year with our own personal reasons for the cars we liked the most (and the least).
Our highlight picks include the Cadillac CT6 and the Honda Ridgeline, the Audi A4 and the Porsche 718 Boxster, and the Lincoln MKX and the Jaguar XF. All garnered multiple kudos as best cars to drive when we aren’t driving for our jobs.
The Chevrolet Camaro, if anything, proves it can create a hearty debate among this diverse squad.
The least impressive cars were rounded out by a miscellany of vehicles that all left us pondering how even higher-ranked automakers can create cars that aren’t that good, in our opinions.
