Disney Jr.'s Ariel

The little mermaid is a classic Disney film during there renaissance age . So I was so angry when we got the live action movie last year that had creepy cgi , forgettable new songs , and characters who just don’t seem like there counterparts. And Ariel just made my rage even higher with its writing that composes of boring and long stories that go on forever, annoying and shocking variations of some of the characters, animation that’s plasticy and weird , and messages while shuttle feels shoehorned in your face . If you or your kid loves the little mermaid , stay away from this show at all costs. 2.5/10

It creates a bad body image. Not because she is black, but look at her shape!!!!!

Perfect for little ones! They made Ursula into a cool fun loving aunt, so there're nothing to be scared of. The character designs are excellent and underwater setting is fun and colorful. The live-action remake should have looked like this. Disney finally managed to accurately animate Black hair textures. I love that Disney is giving us more representation. After all this time, little black and brown kids can see themselves as mermaids too. In the first short, Ariel sings a soca song about how her tail changes color. This song is an absolute bop and has been stuck in my head ever since I heard it. They did not have to go that hard on a song for a two-minute short. I guess that's how you can tell the creators cared about this project. And the actual show is equally good. It's like Sofia the First for the new generation. I love it!
