There is a 100-acre fire burning northeast at East Ave. Q and 35th St. East, Palmdale near Ave. P that could reach 500 acres in the next hour. Structures are expected to be impacted. Please avoid the area.

After headlines of a global internet outage, hackers may be posing as CrowdStrike to try and SCAM you. Do not be fooled by these phishing emails and other attempts to gain access to your information.

Here are some ways to spot scam emails:
🔷 Does it include language that’s urgent, alarming or threatening?
🔷 Is the writing poorly crafted and riddled with misspellings and bad grammar?
🔷 Is the greeting ambiguous or very generic?
🔷 Does it include requests to send personal information?
🔷 Does it stress an urgency to click on unfamiliar hyperlinks or attachments?
🔷 Does the sender’s e-mail address match the company it’s coming from? Look for little misspellings.

Remember, do not click on links!

Starting on Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26 expect nightly closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

🚙 Northbound SR-14 Ave. N - Ave. K
🚗 Southbound SR-14 Ave. K - Technology Drive.

Northbound side of SR-14 has two lanes open in both directions for the crossover from Ave. H to Ave. A.

Available for seniors 55 and older during regular business hours
Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

High temperatures are expected through the weekend, so please be prepared to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.

A reminder that young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles. This is especially true during warm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in minutes.

Northbound on-ramp from eastbound Palmdale Blvd. closed: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

🚧 DETOUR: Northbound SR-14 to Rancho Vista Blvd. and U-turn to Southbound 14 off-ramp to Palmdale.
