Retire Jersey #14 After Indiana Pacer Great, Freddie Lewis
The Indiana Pacers, during its first decade, were blessed with the championship talent, contribution, and performance of FREDDIE LEWIS. Mr. Lewis, one of the original Pacers, pioneered a prominent role on 3 championship teams for the American Basketball Association team of the dynasty era of the Indiana Pacers, winning the franchise’s only 3 titles (6 conference titles). Freddie engineered as team point guard and leader: 3 championships, a playoff MVP, and was a four time All Star (& Voted MVP of All Star Game). He was also twice named First Team All-League, scoring 12,033 career points while collecting 2,752 rebounds and 2,979 assists. Lewis had also been team captain for his entire career.
Ours is an entreaty to those who were privileged enough to have relationships with Mr. Freddie Lewis, or those who saw or heard about his illustrious career, to pay tribute to his achievements.
THEREFORE, WE THE UNDERSIGNED, REQUEST THAT STRONG CONSIDERATION BE GIVEN TO THIS PACER LEGEND BY RAISING TO THE RAFTERS HIS NAME AND NUMBER SO AS TO HONOR HIS DISTINCT AND DISTINGUISHED PLACE IN THE RICH HISTORY OF INDIANA'S BASKETBALL LORE
Since the All-Star Game is in Indianapolis, Indiana this year at Gainbridge Arena, it would be more than fitting that we bring this to the attention of those who would support our effort. We need your signature.
