This is my first leverless and have been really enjoying it. Easy to use and relatively easy to set up. It does not come with instructions on how to change the splash screen (small oled) or rgb (which is lackluster if that’s a selling point), but you can find some youtube videos that help make it very easy. You will leave behind fingerprints just due to the material. It also looks like it’s on sale quite often! Included a 60% keyboard for scale.

Huge fighting game player but mostly focused on Street Fighter titles meaning needing this for SF6. I’ve had the Victrix Pro, Hitbox, Panthers fight stick and other 6 button facing fight pads. Outside of the Victrix Pro BFG, this lever less controller actually beats them all in each category. I needed something new after the D pad wore out super early on the BFG losing up and forward movement. I needed more buttons than what the Hitbox and many fight pads/sticks offered and I needed to be able to program ALL the buttons to what I want. Plus I needed larger buttons for better reactions. This controller has all of that and I wish I would have got it much sooner. Downsides - Software to change buttons and create profiles is not as straight forward as I’d like but only took about 15 mins to figure it all out and update the firmware. YouTube vids out there for that if you need. I wouldn’t have minded if it was a bit wider on the sides to rest your hands but the smaller size makes use more comfortable since the buttons are larger and spaced well from each other. Also if you travel and play this is more convenient and could fit in large cargo or hoodie pockets. Make sure you press all the buttons down before use bc some were at an angle or not fully attached to their base and came lose. Easy snap on fix so no worries. It’s made well (metal base I believe) without being heavy and the buttons are very responsive with replacement and customizable options available for purchase if you want/need. I don’t normally write long reviews but finding a good controller that won’t wear out in 3 months and has a decent price point with all I wanted has been a struggle. If you are looking for one like I was, buy this. You will be happy with it especially if you play Street Fighter or similar titles.

I'm a long time pad player who finally made the jump to a leverless controller. My main game is Tekken 8 but I also dabble in SF6 nd Guilty Gear.

This is the Haute42 M16 that you can get on AliExpress but you don't have to wait for two weeks as long as you have Prime.

I contacted the seller and they responded to me within less than 12 hours. They answered my questions and I went ahead and purchased it.

If you have Prime, you are guaranteed to get your money back if something goes wrong. So the little extra money spent for peace of mind was worth it.

The controller arrived super quick and in perfect condition. I've been using it for a couple weeks now and everything has been great. It is smaller than I anticipated but you can still play it on your lap and all the buttons are spaced perfectly IMO.

This controller has great software for setting up your buttons, a really nice display at the top left to show your inputs and the all metal chassis is a big plus for durability and weight.

Overall this is a great product and if you are transitioning to Leverless for the first time I highly recommend this as your starter controller.

Side note: If you plan on playing this on the PS5, you need to have a dongle to trick the PS5 to recognize it being a legit controller or it will stop working every 8 min. I just bought the Brook Wingman FGC for this issue and it works great. Just a FYI if you are going to a tournament and they are not playing on PC.

It takes a minute to get used to your middle finger being down and jump being thumb, but you can change your Y axis via pc hookup if needed.

Id consider myself quite a bit above average at fighters, Have a few characters at master rank on sf6 thus far.

This controller once you get used to it can help you take things to the next level, this is a major step up from using a traditional arcade stick and for the price point you cant beat it.

Wow, I was not expecting that quality, that thing is beautiful, extremely heavy and it ooze quality build.
I love pressing the buttons, even witout turning on my console or linux.

It just works with everything : Switch, any mini retro console and all mini retro computer possible. It even has a Keyboard mode, for pc games that do not support controller.

It took me 20 minutes to get fully used to it, then I started shredding at vertical shmups (TATE mode as God intended). I love that there are 2 up button, this is perfect for old Amiga and c64 games where UP is for jump. For these old games where the UP is jump, using the thumb button instead of the normal up, makes the games so much better.

The lights are not annoying at all (a first for device with lights), you only see the contour and the light is just the right amout to give the position of the buttons, but only at an angle. I was really afraid of the lights bothering me in the dark, but they are almost invisible, yet there.

Knowing what I know now, this thing is not expensive for the fun and performance it delivers. But I am an arcade fan and I love playing standing up. Maybe it is not for everyone? But if you like buttons and arcade games, this is the deal of the century.

I am in love again.

First up, this product has a different name on the box and website - it's actually a Haute42 M1. There are other names like Borcham, but the actual company appears to be Haute42.

There are a few annoyances, e.g. the so-called "web configurator" is a bit of a mystery, in that after a week I am still yet to find a direct link to it. For this reason I'm not able to configure all of the extra buttons yet, but since the default button layout (as found on most mainstream leverless, e.g. Hitbox) still works out of the box, I'm okay with this for now.

I'm on PC and the default layout is supposed to be XINPUT (best for PC), however this was not on when I connected it in. I had to consult the manual, and that is the other thing. As with many products on the internet these days, the manual is tiny with an equally tiny font. I had to use my phone's camera and enlarge it to read the instructions. The manual also wasn't straight-forward either, but I got there in the end and it works like a charm.

However PS4/PS5 users may run into more issues, as these are not natively supported OOTB. In fact, the weird thing is the FAQ page has some links to third-party websites, including a page on Reddit??? I mean WTH, do you seriously not have the ability to create something of your own. In any case, I'd recommend doing some research before committing.

The RGB is ok as a gimmick, but there is no way to tell what each button does by looking at the buttons. You will need to either add labels yourself, or rely on the little LCD screen on the top left for the layout and memorise what each one does.

The secondary buttons like Start etc are tiny, but they also stay out of the way. They are firm to press and so there is not much chance of accidentally pressing one of them.

The main playing buttons are large and very good quality. I saw complaints that the buttons had partially come out in transit but I did not experience this. The only thing here is that instead of Kailh Red switches I would have preferred Gateron Browns, preferably the low profile ones, although that would most likely have increased the price slightly as well as changed the design. Also the use of Reds in such a compact layout means they are too easy to hit by accident. But I think I can get used to this.

All of this would have made me return the product, but really, overall the rest of it is simply an amazing product. A high quality, aluminium chassis and the thing is built like a brick. At AUD $180ish including delivery, it's astonishing value. I was literally cursing my decision to not wait try Hitboxes and other custom design controllers which were easily twice the price but ultimately were lesser quality.

Also, as an ironic aside, I'm a previously long-time (20+ years) user of Razer products. I really wanted the Kitsune and when it became available for pre-order, incredibly stupid Razer staff tried to make me jump through all these hoops to get through the purchasing process. It kept failing each time and the whole thing was incredibly frustrating.

Now all I can say is this. I am very very glad I did not persevere with the purchase. The M1 is far far better OOTB than the Kitsune will ever be. Up yours Razer, you have lost a loyal customer for good. :D

In my opinion, this is a better build hardware (in terms of size & feel) compared to what I was using perviously. To top it off, this leverless operates in an open-source OS, therefore, you can expect to be always updated/customizable OS to your likely.

I really like the layout, it is great metroidvania and platformers, not just fighters. All you have to do is convert the keypad into analog. My real issue is the buttons. One of the buttons, my right direction input. The key cap keeps popping off extremely easily, makes it impossible to play games with. I have swapped the key cap with another one and it works. But it does make me wonder about the longevity of this controller. Now I do know I can replace the buttons but that is a process in its own, and also cost more money. It is a nice controller it feels good though it would be better if they sent an extra key cap or two
