Series Info/Source: This is the 2nd volume in the Gideon Falls series. I bought this book.

Thoughts: This book was just as awesome as the first book. The mystery is getting even more creepy and complex and I am super curious to see how the story continues. Norton Sinclair finds enough pieces of trash from the Black Barn to finally rebuild its doorway, meanwhile our small town Catholic Priest gets drawn deeper into the mysterious history of the Black Barn. When they both venture into the Black Barn, very strange and disturbing things start to happen.

The story here is fascinating and dark and disturbing. However, that’s not what I love best about this series...I absolutely love the artwork here. The panels are laid out in such creative and interesting ways; they are absolutely stunning. You can tell a lot of thought went into their layout. It is just so artistically done and had such an impact; it matches the story perfectly!

My Summary (5/5): Overall this is the most fascinating horror graphic novel series I have read since “Locke and Key” and I am absolutely loving it! I would definitely recommend it to fans of horror graphic novels. I can’t wait to continue the series.

If you read my review for Vol. 1, you know I was not a big fan (gave it 3 stars). I thought Norton’s story was dull and underwhelmingly underdeveloped, compared to the Father’s.

First of all, Vol. 2 convinced me to buy the whole series. That’s how good this story got. I can finally say Norton gets the attention he needed by Lemire. Lemire took this character to another level and we start to see what his purpose in the story is. Sorrentino’s art continues to shine, but what stole the show is the panelling. It is done in such a manner that your mind becomes engulfed in the story and it starts to crumble on par with our protagonists’, if only for a second. Although I still have not felt the horror aspect of Gideon Falls, the suspense makes up for it. In TV terms, this is a binge-able series. Can’t wait to read Vol. 3.

Amazing Volume. It reminds me of It and The Dark Tower Series by Stephen King. I think Jeff Lemire has been inspired by these books.

Likes the 1st volume but not much in the way of understanding much other then what was presented, getting to know the characters a little and the idea of what the black barn is and all that. This started a little slow in a way but picks up and finishes really strong and makes ME want to read the next and as much as I still don't know because it's that type of story but the mystery has definitely deepened in this volume, the story is wratcheted up to 11. I really really can't wait to keep reading the series and just hope when we find out the what the deal is, it's worth it. I think from the art, the characters and story telling so far and the fact I've read Jeff Lemire plenty of times and I haven't been upset by him so since the story so far is good and I have bit into the story and wanna knows what happens I'm excited to keep unraveling this intricate story.

I think I devoured Volume 2 even faster than Volume 1. Love the dark, twisted story line. The story is tense and building up to something bigger. It ended leaving me with more suspense for Volume 3. Good horror story.

Volume 2 of this series, brings the same level of twists and turns that the intro volume 1.
Fantastic art and non standard angles and reading patterns bring a level of difference to this book, coupled with the story makes the horror through the pages.
Could not put the volume down and genuinely looking forward to future volumes.
