Customer Review

I had an older Linksys router that performed well for many years. It finally failed so I began a quest to find a replacement. I purchased three routers before this one, all MUCH, more expensive, and they all under performed. Most had problems and all had problems staying connected to my smart home devices. Also the routers require rebooting at least daily and the most expensive often needed to reboot at least twice a day.

This router has no such issues. It is rock solid and easy to use and even wired transfers over the network are quite a bit faster.

I had a little problem trying to change the base address as this router comes configured with a starting address of 192.168.0.10 and I wanted 192.168.1.1. I had to go through setup three times to finally get everything working but most of the problem was due to clumsiness on my pare and/or typos.

It was easy enough to reset the router and start over when I did something stupid and I got the router configured exactly how I want.

Now I have no dead spots anywhere in my abode and I even can maintain connection all the way out to my mailbox which is at curbside about 25 yards from my front door.

I am extremely pleased with this router. It just works and I am back to not having to be concerned about router performance.

I still reboot the router weekly but that is just good practice and probably unnecessary.

I can hardily recommend this router and further say that I found no advantage to the expensive ones I tried. So I say save the big bucks for other things.

I will further say that I purposely left out the names and brands of the routers that I had problems with because they are all highly rated routers and only if they did not work at all would I mention the names.
