This model has cob-like LEDs now. They are brighter, yes, but that's a floodlight and thus absolutely incompatible with the desire to preserve any darkness adaptation at night, white or red light are both blinding.
Also, they have removed the wire clip on the back, so you can't attach it to clothes or the tent anymore.
It's now noticeably thicker than the original one (you can't forget it's still on your forehead anymore due to the added bulk protruding forward) and it looks made cheaper overall.
I wish they change the name as this is NOT a Petzl E+ Lite anymore, which outstanding qualities I've been recommending around for decades.
