My husband's steam deck ended up with a problem bumper. It was covered under the Asurion warranty so we sent it in. It took over 2 weeks to be repaired, and another to get shipped back to us, only to find something went wrong with the repair. My husband suspected the circuit board was damaged somehow, but we are not electronic repair people and we did not open the device to play being repair people. We contacted Asurion and they had us send it back in. My husband was less than impressed by the repair aspect of the warranty process, but after they received it back Asurion issued us a refund on the device instead of making us wait to have it repaired again. Unfortunately, the price of Steam Decks had increased a little since the time my husband bought his, so we were out that money. But! Better out a few bucks than have a $500+ paperweight because we didn't get the insurance on the device. Overall, we are glad we got the warranty and Asurion kept their promise. Their repair shop is up by New York, which was inconvenient for us down in Texas, but that's just because we are all used to instant gratification instead of having to wait for things nowadays. Despite the wait and repair failure, my ADHD husband now has a new Steam Deck and we went with Asurion for the warranty coverage again. Asurion was not quick with repairs, but they kept their word and refunded us the same day they contacted us about the inability to repair it the second time. Overall 4.5 stars.
