I love using it to draw in procreate, or design in photoshop and illustrator on the iPad. I have been on the search for the perfect stylus ever since I had my first iPad several years ago. So far, the Apple Pencil Gen 1 (for an iPad 9 gen) comes the closest. I like to draw, and the Pencil is a good tool for drawing. Not only drawing, but I use it for navigating and I can see how it would be useful for note taking, although it will take some practice to get the characters down. What I don't like is the short battery life. It seems I'm always charging this thing even when I'm not using it a lot. I also discovered that the Pencil doesn't work consistently between applications. Ironically, I struggle using it with Freeform on my iPad. But like I said at the beginning of my review, this is the best stylus I've used so far. Almost perfect.

I brought the 1st gen iPad pencil because I’m a college student and thought this would be a great investment and it’s definitely worth the money. I didn’t want to spend too much money on a brand new one, so I brought a used one. And it works like new!! It came in its original box, it didn’t have any scratches or anything wrong with it noticeable, it came with 2 adapters for charging and an extra tip. It connected easily to my iPad and the battery lasts for daysss/weeks (depending on how much you use it).

Easy to use and charge by plugging into the iPad, high quality, the weight’s pretty nice but it could be lighter in the hand. I think it could be cheaper, but it does its job very well and I haven't had any major problems with it. 9/10, i’d recommend. :)

Der Apple Pencil der 1. Generation ist ein bemerkenswertes Werkzeug für alle kreativen Köpfe, die im Besitz eines kompatiblen Apple-Geräts sind. Ich habe den Pencil seit einiger Zeit im Einsatz und er hat meine künstlerischen Möglichkeiten erweitert und meine Produktivität auf ein neues Niveau gehoben.

Die Verarbeitungsqualität des Apple Pencil ist exzellent, wie von Apple gewohnt. Er liegt gut in der Hand und die matten Oberflächen sorgen für einen angenehmen Griff. Die magnetische Befestigung am iPad Pro funktioniert einwandfrei und hält den Stift sicher an seinem Platz, sodass ich ihn nicht verlieren kann.

Die Empfindlichkeit und Präzision des Apple Pencil sind beeindruckend. Die feinen Druckstufen ermöglichen es mir, mit großer Genauigkeit zu zeichnen und zu schreiben. Es fühlt sich fast so an, als würde ich auf Papier arbeiten, da der Pencil die feinsten Nuancen meiner Bewegungen erfasst. Die Reaktionsgeschwindigkeit ist schnell und es gibt keine spürbare Verzögerung, was eine flüssige und immersive Erfahrung ermöglicht.

Besonders beeindruckend ist die Palmenerkennung des Apple Pencil. Ich kann meine Handfläche bequem auf dem Bildschirm ablegen, während ich zeichne oder schreibe, und der Pencil erkennt nur meine Berührungen. Die Integration des Apple Pencil mit den kreativen Apps im App Store ist nahtlos. Ich kann verschiedene Zeichen- und Notiz-Apps nutzen, um meine Ideen festzuhalten und zu skizzieren. Der Pencil erkennt unterschiedlichen Druck und Neigungswinkel, was eine Vielzahl von Effekten und Stilen ermöglicht.

Einziges Manko ist die Tatsache, dass der Apple Pencil nur mit ausgewählten iPad-Modellen kompatibel ist. Es ist wichtig sicherzustellen, dass Ihr Gerät die erforderlichen Voraussetzungen erfüllt, um den Pencil nutzen zu können.

I was sceptical about how often I’d use one of these, but I needn’t have been so. It can be used on the iPad on every single screen as a standard stylus/selector, but it absolutely shines when used for taking notes, doing sketches and using drawing apps. It feels good in the hand. It’s got a nice weight. The nib is bang on for precision. It connects instantly, the second it’s moved. It charges quick enough and lasts a long time once full. In work I have to mark up drawings for changes to be made, and I normally would either mark on by hand, scan and send back, or I’d use Adobe on the pc and use its mark up tools, which aren’t great. Both these methods are shown up to be so slow compared to what I can do now... I just email myself the image or pdf, open it on the iPad, draw straight on top using the Apple Pencil, and then from there email the file back to the draughtsman. It may only sound like a few minutes I save, and I suppose in isolation it is, but consider that i could save this time over and over again ten or twenty times a day, and you can see the savings there are to be made. The drawing mark ups I can now do are hugely clearer, so I can convey ideas much easier. I can undo mistakes. I can zoom in and out for great clarity, I have no idea how it does it, but with the pencil in hand, my wrist and base of my palm somehow doesn’t affect the drawing, it only reacts to the pencil. Even more strangely, I can hold the pencil and still tap with my finger to select things, it’s all very clever indeed.
5/5 all day long for another terrific Apple device,
One tiny downside is cost. There are clones available for £25 upwards, which claim to have the same functions, but I felt it best in this case to stick with Apple devices to work other Apple devices. It’s a moot point though because I couldn’t buy one of the clones to test and compare, so I can’t comment on them at all . They might work and they might not. I made the choice to spend what I spent, and I have no regrets at all.
