The lid drips, no matter what temp, no matter what I cook. Terrible design. Leaves a mess on the stove and the outside of the pot. The pots cannot be cleaned. There is always a residue. Horrible design and overpriced. My cheap Farberware works much better than this overhyped garbage.

This is my new favorite soup pot. I actually bought this to cook stews etc. I own tri-ply and 5ply from All-clad and Cuisinart. My tri-ply sets from Tramontina are my favorite. I guess because they’re not too expensive I don’t feel guilty if I don’t “baby” them as much. I think they are even better quality than Cuisinart’s multi-clad sets. All-clad is always going to be good but barring support for USA made products, Tramontina is a really close second and might be even 1st depending on the pot/pan you buy

Please note: Tramontina has several lines. This review is ONLY for the Tri-Ply Clad pans (even thickness throughout instead of a thicker bottom) that are not sold as a set; they are made in Brazil, not China, and are their most expensive line.
I bought Tramontina pans in the 1980's; 20 years ago, I moved them to my vacation home and have been cooking mostly with All Clad pots and pans since. When I needed a new pan for the second home, I decided to give Tramontina another try since they now make Tri-Ply Clad pans at about a third the price of All Clad. I was so impressed with the first pan (a 6qt braiser) that I bought four more. They perform exactly the same as All Clad: they have great heat distribution and clean up easily.
I should note that the original thick-bottomed Tramontina pans have held up beautifully to 40 years of heavy use; I am replacing them now with the Tri-Ply Clad line only because of their better heat distribution.
A note to people who complain about discoloration: salt and some foods (e.g., pasta, rice, beans) will leave white marks on any stainless steel pan; Bar Keeper's Friend and/or a scrub pad will remove them easily. If you burn a pan, a steel scrub pad is perfectly safe to use on the inside and bottom. And stainless steel pans don't need to be hand washed--a dishwasher does a much better job of cleaning them, especially where the handles are riveted, and keeping pans spotless is the best way to keep them looking like new for a lifetime. Speaking from 40 years' experience.

Have and extensive set of All-Clad from 15 years ago. They have held up well and are still great. Did not have any size between 3 quarts and 8 quarts. Had an old cheap 5 quart but it was difficult to brown meat for a stew without burning. Tried this and was impressed. The weight allowed me to brown with no issues. Fell it should last as long as the high end stuff but with a much fairer price.
