Twisted Love by Ana Huang hooked me from the very first chapter. I loved the grumpy sunshine dynamic of the story, and I was all for the spice throughout this book. Alex Volkov was not a typical billionaire. He was full of vengeance, plotting to get back at the man that killed his family. But he promised his best friend, Josh, that he would watch out for his litter sister, Ava, while Josh moved to South America. As Ava and Alex grew closer, their attraction toward one another blossomed into a heated frenzy of lust and passion.What I Liked:The friendship between Alex and Ava and how he taught her how to swimThe cookies and bakingThe time spent together, even if hanging out on the sofaThe spiceWhat I Didn't Like:So, my dilemma with this book was that the plot was a bit all over the place. First, Alex's revenge plot - okay, got that. But he's also a billionaire genius, and he's grumpy, morally grey, and a stalker...I feel there were a ton of tropes in this one...maybe a bit too much. I had no issues with the revenge plot; it was my favorite storyline. But then poor Ava got her whole life twisted upside down when she realized so many people had lied to her throughout her life. Once again, that 3rd act breakup frustrated me, and to top it off, the final 10% spans over an entire year. Wow!I still enjoyed this book and will continue to read the rest of the series. I'm a big fan of Ana Huang, especially her Kings of Sin series, and I could see her skills strengthening with each book, which is a treasure of its own.
