Basic USB C to Ethernet Adapter
I've used several Tecknet devices and they've all done the job they are supposed to do. This one is no different. The build quality seems good for the price. There is only one light on the outside that lets you know the device is being powered by the computer. The lack of lights as an IT tech is about the only downside. I would rather see a link light and activity light just like you get on a standard desktop Ethernet port. The connectors on both sides connect well and feel solid.

Works great with macOS and Windows. The plastic case is a bit cheap in the way that its not durable at all if it came down to it however the cable feels nice and sturdy.

However it worked right away and immediately had max speeds (Xfinity 1Gbps) no drivers/kexts needed. macOS and Windows reported it as Realtek Gigabit Adapter which I was honestly surprised it wasn't some off brand chip.

Also macOS reports it as a true USB 3.0 (5Gbps) device so its not limited by USB speeds just the networking max of 1Gig and whatever your ISP provides you. Product page advertises it as USB3.1 (10Gbps), its actually 3.0 (5Gps), but that doesn't really matter since its capped at 1Gbps for Ethernet speeds anyways.

Been using it for 2 days, just plugged it into my Moto G Power (which is pretty banged up from use) and instantly started working. Within a minute it may disconnect and I have to replug it, but once it is running for those initial few ~2 minutes, it never disconnects, and I suspect it is due to my phone as the lights on the cable stay lit during this time. I have been using it to play a mobile game that heavily penalizes for disconnecting even for just a second, but so far have had zero instances of this and have clocked in about 14 hours.

This is a very handy ethernet adapter indeed, it appears to be a well made sturdy unit. The RJ45 end is made from tough looking black plastic with gold coated connectors within which should ensure a good solid connection which in turn should eliminate or help reduce any drop outs or performance issues which can be caused by a poor connection. The cable is about six inches in length and again appears to be made from good quality cable. The cable ends are moulded into the connectors so there should be no issues due to loose cables or the connectors pulling off if the cable is tugged. The USB Type C connector again seems well built.

In use I found this worked straight out of the box, no messing around with drivers or having to set it up, I plugged it in and within a few seconds it was recognised and was up and running. This performs well without issue, I have a good solid connection now using an ethernet cable instead of my twitchy wi-fi which only seems to work if I'm in the same room as my router.

This is a great little adapter which is easy to install and works faultlessly where a wi-fi signal is just not up to the job. The downside is that you will need to run a cable from your router to this adapter. Nowadays this is not such a problem as lay flat ethernet cables are fairly cheap to buy and are easily hidden under carpets etc. Wi-fi is handy but you simply cannot beat the reliability of being connected direct via an ethernet cable. Highly Recommended!
