    I have a HP Pavilion g6 laptop that is several years old now and I've upgraded the original Win 8.1 OS to Windows 10. After upgrading to the latest Win 10 build 22H2 my wireless adapter and track pad stopped working completely. HP doesn't support this system with updated drivers anymore so if an OEM component stops working and a newer, (updated) driver isn't available, you have to make due where you can. The track pad was bypassed with a trackball mouse and the WiFi adaptor is now this one.

    Obviously it is easy to install as it just plugs into a USB port and once loading the product drivers, it connects to both 2.4 and 5g frequencies without any issues. I feel it was a good value and am pleased with the performance and reliability of the adaptor. I have not experienced any issues since installation.
    I have since retired the old Pavilion and replaced it with a Dell Precision 7530 that is much more powerful and upgradable to Windows 11 Pro when necessary.

That is, sometimes her wi-fi will just drop, but it will sometimes work again if she unplugs the adapter and plugs it into a different port. However, most recently, it doesn't continue working for long enough to be worth her effort, so she is shopping for a new one. Hopefully, that one will last!
