If you do interviews and commentary with two people, this dual lavalier mic is perfect for any smartphone.
This wired lavalier mic set is plug-and-play. No apps or special drivers needed. Very easy.
As a video guy, and much to my surprise, I have started using my smartphone more and more for many of my videos. However, audio is always the weak link and the big problem. To fix this problem I picked up Pop Voice's wired lavalier lapel dual mic set.
These two small microphones allow me to do interviews on a live stream from my Android (s7) for most any social media app such as Facebook and Periscope with crystal clear audio. It is critically important to me to better my audio beyond that of which the built-in microphone on the smartphone can deliver--which is quite poor in sound quality.
Attached to this review is a video. Watch it and listen to the difference between my wife and me using the dual-head lavalier mic. You will notice a big sound difference when I unplugged the mic set. There is no comparison. I am very happy with the quality that this mic has brought me.
About the microphone itself, the cable is more than 16ft long so it's long enough to meet most needs. Depending on the set scenario, the 16' throw is quite handy.
The clips are sturdy. Once it is clipped on, it will stay. They give you two extra clips, which is really nice. They also throw in a couple extra black windscreen, which is very cool of them. They always seem to get lost, so having extras is great.
They give you a couple attachment types too so this will work on most any PC or smartphone.
The microphones are small enough that most people probably will not notice them when on camera streaming.
Tips:
It's usually best to hide the cord under clothing. Just weave it so no one sees the cord.
Place the mic on the chest near the head-- it doesn't have to be too close the mouth at all. Middle chest area is great.
If you are a heavy breather, you may attach the mic upside down on your shirt to avoid the sound of you breathing into the mic.
