Great general purpose headlamp for the whole family
I've had an older 2x AA Nitecore headlamp that lasted me 7 years (HA20).And needed to replace some 4 year old Black Diamond 2x AAA headlamps.This headlamp only needs one AA battery and includes a cap clip.The glow in the dark elastic band is a bit on the rough side, and I may switch out with standard elastic band.For the amount of light to battery at highest level, this is a good option for us, as we have a lot of NiMh batteries.I had my 12yo go through the different light modes in white and red, and she was able to get it after two tries.There are a decent amount of combinations, but I do wish the low white light was part of the standard cycle. You can turn on low light, and then it cycles to medium and high. I've found that low light setting was fine for at camp use.There is a lock mode, but it takes effort to press the buttons, and I've found not needing to use with any of my headlamps.

It's very light and I've fallen asleep wearing it once.
It has the following modes (table attached)
red (5 lumens for 10 hours), red flashing
white ultra low (6 lumens for 40 hours)
white low (60 lumens for 10 hours)
White high (240 lumens for 4 hours) and white flashing.
These numbers were supposedly achieved with ordinary Alkaline batteries.
I find these numbers hard to digest. I think the ultra low is 20 lumens and no way it can do 40 hours on that setting.
It also comes with a clip for a baseball cap.
The included Paracord is elastic, phosphorescent and adjustable.
Pros:
Super light, super convenient, great for emergencies, and claims to be IP66 water resistant.
Cons:
Plastic flashing on the battery lid scratched up one on my lithium batteries and I had to file it down.
I don't believe the claims about the runtime.
Nitecore has a video on yoo toob explaining all the functions.

This is a light and compact headlamp which runs off of a single AA battery. It is compatible with Alkaline, NIMH rechargable, Lithium primary and 1.5 volt regulated rechargeable lithium batteries like EBL.Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2023
