Reviews here are mixed. Here is my experience.

Pros:
-Drivers are on website, but comes with a CD that has Linux, MAC, and Windows installers.
-Speeds are the same as my desktop PCIe NIC, under identical conditions. Streaming 4k video was a breeze, minimal/no buffering; nothing I could discern anyway.
-Very small size.
-Windows driver worked. Had to disable my laptop's internal NIC to have Windows default to the adapter, but once I did it worked just fine.
-Kali linux on VM works, just make sure you go into the settings and bridge the connection from host.

Cons: none yet.

Other:
Older hardware made Nmap scans slower, but that's not the fault of the adapter.
Overall solid little thing. Will update if anything happens.

The manufacturer does not provide drivers for Linux. If you’re a very technical person, you can locate third-party drivers and compile and install them. However, for my system, I tried several methods and was not able to get it working. I did several hours of additional research online for alternative methods and tried several of those which also failed. Returning item and buying something. Compatible and easier to use. Since I wasn’t able to get it to work on the B2, or Debian, I decided to install the latest version of Kelly Lennox updated. I then tried several methods suggested online to install the drivers for the adapter, and none of them worked either. Unfortunately, this item is not compatible with any versions or distributions of Linux, including the latest version of Cali enormous amount of work time and effort to try and get it to work if you’re able to get it to work at all. I’ll be returning the item and would not recommended for anyone using anything other than a Windows operating system. there are other USB Wi-Fi adapters that still have the ability to go into promiscuous mode and capture packets without all of the trouble And difficulties. Horrible product. Needs a lot of work and the manufacturer should provide certified drivers. anything else is just a crapshoot

ALFA is one of the remaining high quality Taiwanese manufacturers of consumer wifi equipment. And this thing is reliable, I have never had it drop a connection. When I go to cafes or in my backyard I always receive a top notch connection on account of the big antenna. An activity indicator light lets you know when the device is active, and in the dark illuminates the antenna giving it a feeling of your data beaming into the air. It is an older spec device but it is still as fast as USB 2.0 will allow it, I have observed speeds up to the specified 444 UL/DL. I recommend ALFA to all the people I meet at hobby events.
