I bought 3 of them, Amazon was having a great sale $349.95 but it was damaged in transit and I never received it and they wouldn't honor sale price. Then I bought 1 from Crutchfield on sale $399.99, sale ended, wished I bought the 3 pack, Then I bought a 2nd one from ebay $200 seller only had 1, and then a 3rd one direct from linksys on sale $399, should have bought the 3 pack, not knowing I didn't want to buy 3 for $899. Wi Fi mesh works great, it is fast and covers a large area with 3. I wish they worked with Apple Home Kit app like the earlier Lynksys models.I also have the base unit bridged to my 2 Time Capsules

My goal was to get a usable signal at all areas of my property. I have spectrum 1 gig cable service and the provided router was not cutting it. I purchased the MX8502 Atlas max 6E tri band rated at 6000 sq ft 2 routers package. These routers accomplished my goal. My house is 3000 sq feet single story on a lot that is 200 feet long 66 feet wide. My office is located in the front of the house which is 15 feet from the front of the lot. My garage is separate from the house at the very back of the lot.

I did have difficulty with set up. I was unable to get a internet signal out of the modem (Hitron brand) and to the Linksys router. The set up instructions have you connect your cables then unplug power to the cable modem to reset the connection. They have you connect the internet cat5 cable from modem to Linksys before doing this restart. The trick with spectrum is you don't connect the cat 5 cable during restart of the modem. Since I had already tried many times to set this up I had to start clean. I reset the Linksys to factory spec with the reset button then left the cat 5 cable disconnected during set up until the modem had restarted. and that was it. Both Linksys and spectrum support had me convinced that I could not use this router and modem combination. I usually don't give up easy so I kept calling back till I got the right person which was a tech at spectrum.

I have left my channel selection on auto and have not had any disconnection troubles.
I have no 6E devices so these results are from my 2.4 and 5ghz devices. In the room that the routers are located in I get nice download speeds 650-800 mbps. At the furthest distances I still get very usable internet. I get aprox 200 mbps in my garage and office which are at the furthest ends. So far 1 month I have not had any issues to complain about. I have all the typical stuff connected plus I use internet for all my music and TV streaming. I have not had to restart the router. I like that there is a guest network option. The control panel is easy to set everything you want.

The MX8500 is a great router and setup was easy with the app. I am not an app person but ti work perfectly and I had my system up with three nodes in about 35minutes. Also something not shown in the Anazon pictures is all three nodes are full functioning routers with hardwire gig ehternet ports in addition to the Wifi. Again price is a little high but I can stream four Fire Cubes plus our phones and laptops with no issues. The only issue I had was when I wanted to access the Cable modem web interface it took some playing with the IP address range to get it to discover the Cablem modem. If you are not a network geek this is not a big deal and if your internet provider gives you the modem you may not have access in any case.

I bought the Linksys MX8502 because I needed better coverage in my house. It seems to do that and all the various devices we have (computers, kindles, and printers) are able to sign on easily.

Installation was another matter. You're supposed to use their app. I tried that and it failed. The app told me to try again. I did, several times with minor variations, and got the same result. I called the support phone number and it rang, and rang, and rang... I gave up and tried the chat option. I got a tech on the line in just a minute or two. I got worried when he told me to try the app again - but when it failed he told me there was another way to set it up. This was all controlled by pushing the reset button in strange ways and it worked. It took, overall, about two hours to get it done because the tech had other folks on his chat and sometimes I didn't do the strange things correctly.

It was a bit of a struggle but it's working just fine.
