I was mainly taking this as a preventative-- trying to prevent myself from ever getting cancer, etc., and while I have no way of telling whether it works on that or not at this point, I can say that it has already helped my immune system significantly enough for me to notice it. For example, I had issues (minor infections, sores) with my gums and my mouth before I started taking this on a daily basis for over a month, and they all went away. I do a lot of gardening and I get lots of scratches, cuts, and scrapes on my arms, hands, and legs. I notice now that they heal up much faster than in the past. Almost every afternoon I used to get a low grade fever after a busy day of various activities, and now, while I may be tired at the end of the day, I don't get that fever anymore. So, I can say that this stuff has actually helped my immune system and for that it is worth what I paid for it.
I do take other things as well for my immune system, but I was already taking them before I started taking this, and I only noticed the major difference in how I felt and how quickly I healed up after I started taking this mushroom extract. Here are the other things I already did on a daily basis for my immune system: Lifeway Kefir (you can find it at grocery stores and it is the best probiotic I have ever found), potato starch (this feeds the good bacteria), oat bran, freshly ground flax seeds, chia seeds, chlorella algae, green tea, dark chocolate, blueberries, tart cherry juice, turmeric, ginger, raw almonds, freshly sprouted seeds, and lots of dark leafy greens like kale, collards, swiss chard, etc.
UPDATE: July 15th, 2016 I still take this on a daily basis and it still helps, but I now also take Astaxanthin (12 mg) daily and it seems to work with this and has completely knocked out all the inflamation and gum pain I had. It knocked out the low grade fever entirely. Small sores and minor infections healed up rapidly. So, I say take both medicinal mushrooms and astaxanthin. I also take two other mushroom supplements, and I like them, too.

From battling Late stage Lyme Disease to not getting sick
Tested positive for LD in 2010 and after antibiotics tested negative. 2016-2019 tested (+) - 2019(last week); tested negative. 2016-2018: major decline in health; random loss of vision, trouble walking(knees and coordination issues), unable to speak, heart arrhythmia, back-to-back pneumonia, severe neck pain/migraines.. hospital stays and unable to do anything strenuous w/o getting ill. I'm 36.Tried natural supplements with limited success; berberine+milk thistle, CBD oil, rhodiola, jiagulan extract, cat's claw and holy basil.Continuing to research Lyme disease and learning chaga mushrooms as a possible aid - tried this product first because it has 17. To my surprise symptoms actually began dissipating. 6 months in taking this product twice daily without illness changed my life. Can lift weights/work out strenuously and not get sick(?!). I'm convinced this product has helped overcome the symptoms listed above. I've been taking this product for over a year and have not gotten sick - whaaat?! My cognition - WAY better. Joints - don't ache(?!). Heart arrhythmia - no. Vision issues, severe neck/muscle pain - gone. I've thought about taking a break.. and instead ordered another bottle today.I don't want to take a supplement for life - this product has to go into the fridge after opening which isn't ideal for travel but I did it overseas w/o vaccines in regions where malaria and other horrible things are prevalent. There were moments it got warm/hot and burped when opening the bottle and all seemed ok. I may be a lifelong consumer with how well my health is now.
