This neck has not been treated since the guitar was made in 2008. The ebony returned to mint condition. Wipe off any excess as instructions say. The hard ebony wood feels as soft as velvet. I used this oil to clean and condition my Fender Stratocaster. The neck hadn’t been cleaned in years and was in pretty bad shape. There was a lot of gunk in between the frets. I applied the oil to a microfiber cloth and scrubbed the neck. The wood soaked up the oil nicely and it removed all the debris. It left my guitar neck looking brand new. It now feels very smooth. I had worries it might leak in shipping but it came sealed so that wasnt a problem for me. Now for the product itself. I bought this for a dark wood fingerboard on my bass that was looking a little dry and had not been used in some time. I wiped the fingerboard clean then applied the oil to the corner of a old T-shirt and rubbed up and down and side to side to get all the grain of the wood of each fret spacing. I used a different spot on the T-shirt I was using each time so was not to put the dirt on to the next space. I then waited a maybe 3 minutes and used a clean spot on the old t-shirt to wipe off any remaining on the frets and such. I only used 3 or 4 drops each time and It worked wonders!! I will use this when its needed again. You get enough in the bottle for $6-7. Just be sure not to use a very thick cloth or it will just soke up the oil your trying to use. I found that a t-shirt was the best option.. Im just sorry i didnt take before and after pictures but I honestly wasn't expecting it to work so amazingly well. This is a great product and I can recommend it 110%👌
