This series is part of the Science Adventure Series. So references to Steins;Gate and Robotics;Notes will intersect since it’s part of the same universe. Anyhow, previously this game was riddled with bugs that wouldn’t let you complete certain routes but that has now been fixed. Some people aren’t happy with the translation but it’s a cliff notes version that isn’t too localized. If you’re a fan of visual novels with a darker side or a fan of the anime adaptations of these games the. You’ll be enjoying these delusions in game form!

I got this after having played Steins;Gate previously on another system. I had heard about Chaos;Head but not being available in English. I wouldn't consider this as a must play game.

It was interesting seeing how these titles fit in and affected the other SciAdv games, but the delusion mechanic in both of them don't feel like they're important at best and are confusing trying to get different endings without a guide especially in Chaos;Head.

Story problems aside, Chaos;Child is a mess on the Switch. It crashed on me multiple times and had slowdown issues on scenes with added effects. Robotics;Notes which uses 3D models the whole game didn't give me any of these problems.

And for a game that is all about reading they sure didn't make sure it was a good experience. There are multiple scenes with dialogue where the text doesn't show, lots of times the wrong character's name is in the text (which is very confusing when they're speaking another language) and general spelling errors. It looks like it was translated by an intern and nobody bothered to check it before publishing. Those could be fixed with a patch but after finishing the game months after release I doubt it.

I haven't played on PC but I hear there is a fan patch that fixes these problems. If you're interesting in playing I would look into that version.

AVOID THE SWITCH VERSION FOR NOW. I've only heard great things about this visual novel. But translation issues aside, the game is impossible to beat because it crashes when you get to the ending. Its been a week and they still haven' fixed it nor gave us any indication that it will be fixed. This is unacceptable since we paid money for this. I would recommend getting it on PC if you can or wait till the issue is fixed.

The steelbox is nice though! But I do regret this purchase.
