This system has been used at a rate of 3 gigs per month for 4 years now. The transmitter is now integrated in our mixer rack. We haven't had a single problem with this system. It has performed flawlessly for 4 years. Great performance with a minor investment. You can spend a lot more...but there isn't any reason to.
ONE YEAR UPDATE
I am still impressed with the Audio 2000 IEM system. The receivers have proven to be reliable. We haven't broken one, but we also treat them as if they are made of glass. We did keep the kit in a hot car one day and as a result a receiver indicator LCD display warped (just the plastic cover on the LCD - the LCD works fine). I also note that if the receiver is worn too close to the transmitter on my wireless guitar transmitter that there can be interference. The solution is to wear the IEM receiver somewhere on the left side of my body (I usually hang it off of my left rear pocket). I have enough experience and faith in this system to say if it was lost or damaged, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another as a replacement.
Original Review
I was so tired of monitor feedback during gigs and worse...everyone in the band arguing about who could hear and who couldn't - that I decided to give this system a try. We used the gig money from one gig to purchase this (how's that for a return on investment) and MEE M6 headphones. My band mates were very skeptical about buying this system (REAL skeptical), but after nine months of use we all agree that this was an excellent purchase. A couple of things to note:
- We never used the headphones that came with the system. We all bought MEE Audio M6 PRO headphones and they have worked great. After just one use we all agreed that only one ear piece is necessary.
- We use PowerEx Pro 2700 mWh rechargeable batteries with the system and get a solid 5 hours between charges.
- The plastic bodies on the receivers are the low point. I'd gladly pay and extra $100 for metal receivers. We haven't broken one yet...but I'm buying an extra receiver to have as a spare (AWR6305U5). There's your $100!
- Be mindful of the input signal. If it's too hot you will hear clipping. There is a attenuation button on the transmitter and we find it works best in the out (0dB) position.
- Be sure to remove the blocking panel for the L/M/H selector on the back of the unit so you can run the system with a high RF output. In this setting we've never lost the signal.
- The case is near-crap, but it works and I'd rather have it than not.
Additional benefits of IEM's (not specific to System 2000); our stage volume at gigs is very low (guitars go through Iridium Amp Emulators), we have very quiet rehearsals, and not having to load and unload 4 monitors at a gig. Band life is so much better with IEM's...and even better when you have a system that works for just $330 (plus headphones and rechargeable batteries - all in we are below $500).
I currently use two of these In a worship setting. We are in a fairly hostile RF environment with a major tv tower 300 yards from us and a emergency services tower in the rear parking lot. RF has always been an issue. I figured at the price point why not let’s try it. If you are expecting a psm300, go buy something else. If you don’t have $2000-3000 to iem your worship team keep on reading. First off the transmitter audio meter is not accurate. When output was at -20 on our SL3 the transmitter was distorted. With that being said you have to adjust your mix master down on your console or the sound will be terrible. I’m fairly sure these are running a more consumer based -10 dB ref. Once you get your levels calibrated the sound quality is excellent. Stereo image is has a nice separation, full range of frequencies. There are some RF artifacts but for the price.... bass frequency’s tend to excite the RF fuzz/ static but when a full band is going and your in the moment it isn’t noticeable.
The receiver packs feel cheap, like if you dropped them you might be ok, but I wouldn’t throw them, def not a shure. There is a limiter that works ok but i opted to run the processing on our console. There are 4 eq settings on the packs. The belt clip is sturdy, but the antennas do not want to stand up. I’m going to use some wire to fix this as the packs receive better when the antenna is up..
Now for the bad....
If you are going to rack mount this you will have to get an external antenna setup. I remedied this with tnc magnetic WiFi bases and attached the stock antenna to them (see pics). Our first week we had tons of drop outs due to high swr due to the antennas being trapped inside the rack cabinet. Trabsmitters are only a half rack, but two will fit beside each other in the rack. The led displays are bright in the transmitters. The vu meters are for show only. I would had hopped for a little more stability in the RF link. We are 80 feet from the transmitters, with 300 people between us and the foh. There is static everyonce in a while and audio will drop for a split second, mainly when the batteries are old in the packs. And that brings me to my next point, the battery level is just a gemik. Make sure you use fresh batteries.
Over all for the price I can’t complain. Using these greatly reduced our stage noise, they work fine and are on the same level as the cad and galaxy audio costing 300-500. We are ordering more so all 9 of our performers have ears

No sabemos si es problema del canal que estamos utilizando o fallas de la corriente eléctrica, pero a veces hace un ruido de repente, pero no dura mucho.
