Great value and Performance
Frustration free packaging is minimalist as usual, no plastics. Nice.Cables are somewhat thin; thinner than MonoPrice and CableMatters XLR cables. Very flexible though, which can be an advantage!Doesn’t really give many specifics on the type of cable shielding. For example, CableMatters has multiple shields, insulates the individual wires within the cable, etc. Amazon just mentions an “inner copper spiral shielding”.The connectors are solidly built, not exactly Neutriks but the locking mechanism feels solid on both and no issues plugging / unplugging. They’ve machined little grooves into the barrels that help with grip when unplugging, which is a nice detail.The XLR barrels are a little shorter than on some other brands, which is actually very useful in tight spaces. The strain relief plastic is short and squishy, more so than on MonoPrice or CableMatters products. Not sure how effective it is but, again, it doesn’t get in the way and the overall shortness / flexibility can help. For example, the CableMatters XLR barrel rubs against my VIVO mic mount, putting a slight pressure on the SM7B connector. The MonoPrice XLR is even longer and I won’t even try it. The AmazonBasics fits just right!Pins are brass, silver plated. Both MonoPrice and CableMatters use gold plated pins.The shielding and pin plating being different or unknown / lesser quality might not be a big deal for 6ft and under. For longer cable lengths, go with a brand that has the best possible shielding to maintain signal integrity, especially when recording.Testing with a Shure SM7B along with a Cathedral Pipes “Durham” mic booster, which needs +48V phantom power. Audio interface is an "old but gold" Focusrite LS56. Monitoring on Sennheiser HD280 Pros. Hopefully this lets me test every aspect of the cable accurately and fairly.I used 2 channels on the same interface, one wired with a pretty expensive (and long) Monster XLR cable to a mic booster, then from the booster to mic with a short 3ft CableMatters XLR cable.The 2nd channel was wired purely with the two AmazonBasics 6ft XLR cables, either side of the mic booster.Noise floor was pretty indistinguishable between the two setups. Recorded audio quality was also close to the point of being unable to tell them apart.For the short cable runs, whatever shielding Amazon is using is definitely up to par and I’ll likely permanently swap out the stiffer CableMatters XLR to reduce pressure on the SM7B’s XLR connector (the AmazonBasic’s shorter barrel really makes a difference here).Great value, great performance. Chuffed.

I'm a radio news person, so having a reliable yet mobile sound recording set-up for on-the-scene reporting was important to me. Since I planned to use professional microphones, an XLR cable became vital. After researching my choices on Amazon, I chose this set. I only needed one cable but having a spare is always a good idea.

I'd read a couple of reviews saying the plugs on these cables weren't precisely sizes, causing issues when connecting a microphone. I am pleased to report that it fits beautifully into the variety of mics I have on hand and also into my iRig amp/adapter that's part of my setup.

Audio quality is as expected-- no different than the many cables I have available at work. Physical quality appears to be good... I expect these cables to perform as well as any other XLR cables. I haven't found any faults with them.

The price was right and I am glad I took a chance on this set. I know the cables will be an important part of my setup and I'm confident they will continue to perform well.

Lately I have had a small difficulty with these cords. While they're long they can be difficult to remove from the microphone itself. Sometimes it get completely stuck. The more force you have to use the higher chance you have of damaging your microphone.
