I’m very proud of my diy desk office space that I made mostly myself for around $60; not only because most of it was free but because I made some of these things myself. The desktop was a free door from Facebook. I stained and applied poly to finish it. The monitor stand is scrap wood that I had on hand. It’s a very simple and useful way to hide my keyboard when I need more space. Anyways — this review is about a cable not my office.

The cable works great with the *free* 2011 27” iMac that I upgraded (the graphics card it’s a thing) and the *free* 22” LED monitor that someone didn’t want anymore. The only thing pictured that I paid for is the cable. It plugs into one of the iMac display ports and the other into the hdmi on the monitor. (You can see I made my own stand out of scrap wood)

And yes it’s an iMac but I run windows 10. That’s just how I roll. I put in an SSD but didn’t bother installing OSX because I really don’t use it.

To conclude, I like this cable because it was reasonably priced and it works. Thank you for letting me talk about my office.

Firstly, I avoided using these for my VR headset, as it was know to have serious issues using displayports instead of HDMI. I bought this cable with the sole intent of testing a barebone HP Elitedesk 800 G3 mini computers VR capability. It was obviously buggy, due to running on such underpowered hardware, but it ran. The quality also seemed to be the same as HDMI, if not better, which has led me to question where I first heard of the Display port problems... it feels high quality and appears durable enough for the bends of the cable when attached to the linkbox.

Lots of various uses for this cable. I personally use it to connect a laptop minidisplay port to an external HDMI monitor. No issues, perfect signal... as expected with anything digital.

Remember we are not in the world of analog anymore. Gold plated used to matter maybe when the signal strength determined the picture quality. That era is gone. We are digital now, so it is either ON or OFF. You either get the full 100% signal, or you don't get any signal.

Don't fall for the gimmicks like Monster Cables Gold Plated, Zinc, Titanium Reinforced Connector marketing, none of that matters at all for a digital connection.

Recently I purchased a projector and was really looking forward to watching shows and movies on Netflix and Hulu with it. However, I realized that due to copyright issues, the projector cannot play any streaming sites through screen mirroring or through connection with my phone. I have a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th generation) and this was an issue since the Surface Pro does not have an HDMI port. I was about to purchase the Mini Display Port on the Microsoft site for $40, but then I decided to check on Amazon to see if I could get in quicker due to Prime 2 day shipping. Then I stumbled upon this product! $10! This was wayyy more cheaper and it does the same work as the Mini Display Port from Microsoft that was $40! This product is for sure worth it and the cord is long so you can place your laptop at a good place! Really recommend to anyone that wants to use their Surface Pro with a projector or any HDMI type of device. A great price and does a wonderful job!
