Customer Review

So, I had an initially positive retro gaming experience with my Atari 2600+ when I tested it using the games that came with it. These presumably were all NTSC format rom images. When I tried my PAL format cartridges they were almost unplayable - unresponsive, laggy, not at all fun. Add to that only one of the paddles I bought worked (the other not at all).

Reached out to the Atari support email as I was really keen to sort the issues out (I loved the Atari 2600 back in the late 70s early 80s). They initially replied on 26th Dec, requesting I send them a video of the issue with the paddles which I did on 27th Dec. I was very impressed with how quickly I got an initial response to be honest. When I replied with the video I also asked about the PAL issue, and whether there was a fix coming for that. Then I heard nothing. I emailed again on 1 January, and 9 Jan, but no response. This would not be a difficult fix, but without any contact from them about if/when it would come I felt I had no option but to return it while there was still a window to do so. Thank goodness for Amazon's return policy! Atari - you need to sort this out....
