The Atari 2600 was *the* go to video game system of my youth. I was very excited when Atari came back and decided to re-release it. It is fun but there are a few things to keep in mind -
It will play original 2600 cartridges but make sure you clean them before use. Also, Atari has published a list of compatible cartridges: check before you bid on anything on eBay.
Second, this doesn’t come with a power adapter. Ensure you have a suitable USB / USB C charger.
Be prepared to be shocked by how far things have come: the haze of memory made the games seem less rudimentary than they really are. This is particularly clear on a HD TV.
Nevertheless if you want a trip down memory lane, as I did, this is highly recommended. Welcome back, Atari. We missed you.
