I purchased this to replace a Nuki doorlock.

Currently my setup consists of both home assistant and homekit.

I paired initially with HomeKit. As others have mentioned there are some issues with firmware but I resolved by pressing the set button during the pairing process.

I have then exposed this via matter from HomeKit to home assistant (there are other ways you can do this).

Once you get past the setup process it works perfectly, I can use HomeKey, fingerprint, home assistant app or HomeKit to unlock/lock the door. It’s extremely responsive and quick to open.

Additionally I have wired the keypad by connecting cables to my existing Reolink doorbell and both work perfectly fine.

First of all.. i don’t normally write reviews but as this lock cost to much i felt it was necessary.

The Bad:
The build quality of this lock is not worth the high retail price this being sold at. The plastic is very thin and i do feel it will age badly; especially the outdoor keypad which feels like a toy.

Getting this to pair to HomeKit is very troublesome but after my 9th attempt, it paired.. only to show up as “no response” the next day. Leaving me with no option other than to reset the entire device.

The adaptors that come included with the lock are of very poor quality and i dont think they would last more than 6 months before needing replacing.

While my lock was operational, it would constantly show as “locked” when in reality the door wasn’t. This is after my 30+ attempts at both automatic and manual calibration.

It’s not been installed more than a week and now the lock will not lock the door but shows as locked in the app. The thumbturn doesn’t even move.
I’m unsure if this is hardware or software related

It’s very unfortunate that in order to gain all additional features you need to have also purchased the recently released the HUB M3.

My lock has effectively turned into a paperweight as i cant trust it to secure my door.

The pros:
After enough of my above moaning, its good that we now have a Homekey lock in the UK (shame that Apple dont let you share the NFC key from your wallet, only sharing a PIN code at present)

I could have a defective unit, in theory, it’s the complete package meeting all of the unlocking protocols you could want pin, fingerprint, nfc and key.

While it worked i was impressed that the lock could tell when the door was shut without needing an additional magnet on the outside.

The sticky pad that the unit sits on is so adhesive it should be used on spacecraft

The amount of mounting solutions included in the box is impressive

In summary, as the owner of many Many smart devices, i am somewhat disappointed in the unit itself and the build quality, don’t heighten your expectations set by the price. It’s priced as such because it’s the only one that supports all of the protocols and Homekey.

I just got the Aqara smart lock, and I’m really happy with it. Mounting it is not as hard as it seems, but it helps to watch a video on YouTube.

Installing the lock in the app is straightforward, though updating the firmware takes a while. To pair it with HomeKit, I had to remove the battery and press the SET button first. Also, make sure you have IP6 enabled in your router settings. The installation is simple, but the instructions are limited and not in Dutch. The app could use some refinement.

It works great with Apple HomeKit and Apple Homekey. You can choose to always be able to unlock the lock with your phone, even if it’s off. There’s also an option to require FaceID or your passcode before Homekey works. The fingerprint scanner is very fast and I use it most of the time. I also installed another cylinder with a panic function within a minute so that I can always open the door with a regular key. Note that Amazon sells the version without the NFC tag, but there are other versions available that include it, and they come with a wood-colored front plate.

Once connected, the HomeKit integration is excellent, but you adjust the lock settings in the Aqara app. For instance, I set it in HomeKit so that the lock automatically locks when I leave home. Apple Homes won’t let you automatically lock the door as you leave your home, it always asks for confirmation. But I found another way to lock it automatically without any confirmation, just by making an automation that if a non used outlet turns off (this one turns off by leaving my home), the U200 has to be locked. This only works when the outlet is on, so when I arrive home, the outlet turns on again, also have an automation for this outlet to be turning on several times a day to make sure the auto locking works always without any confirmation.

In the video, the lock is shown in the fast mode, but there’s also a slow, quiet mode. You can choose the modes in the app, or you can click the ✔️ button and then open or close the lock slowly.

Despite many negative reviews here, I am very satisfied with it and think the lock is definitely worth the price.

Ich habe das Aqara Smart Lock U200 nun seit einigen Wochen im Einsatz und bin insgesamt sehr zufrieden mit dem Produkt.

Positives:

• Reaktionszeit: Die Reaktionszeit des Keypads ist hervorragend. Egal ob mit Fingerabdruck oder Code, das Schloss reagiert blitzschnell.
• Integration: Die Unterstützung für Apple Home Key, Google Home, Alexa und SmartThings macht die Integration in mein bestehendes Smart Home sehr einfach und bequem.
• Design: Das schwarze Design sieht modern und hochwertig aus, passt perfekt zu meiner Haustür.
• Akku: Der aufladbare Akku ist sehr praktisch und hält bei mir mehrere Wochen durch, bevor er wieder aufgeladen werden muss.

Verbesserungspotenzial:

• Software: Im Vergleich zu Nuki hat die Software noch Aufholbedarf. Einige Funktionen könnten intuitiver gestaltet und die App-Benutzeroberfläche benutzerfreundlicher sein. Ein paar Updates könnten hier sicherlich Abhilfe schaffen.

Vedo tanti commenti negativi ma sinceramente non so se sono stato fortunato io o sono gli altri che magari non aggiornano tutto all’ultimo firmware (compreso iPhone e Hub). Io la trovo semplicemente perfetta. Installata e collegata subito tramite apple tv come hub. Non possiedo l’M3 di aqara. Non sbaglia un colpo, super reattiva sia con impronta, pin e soprattutto HomeKey che è la funzione che aspettavo da anni e finalmente posso dire che è stupenda e super comoda..come sempre apple quando fa le cose le fa bene e con qualche chicca in più rispetto agli altri. Quindi non posso fare altro che consigliare l’acquisto di questa serratura secondo me la migliore quanto meno per le nostre porte Europee.
