I've tried Monster Hunter, it's good but I much prefer Wildhearts. Definitely a 5/5 stars for me, it has very unique game mechanics and isn't just a clone of MH.
I got this one on sale and had a blast with it. Around 80hrs and I got my platin trophy. I never had such a lot of fun with any Monster Hunting game and I played Monster Hunter World, Freedom Wars, God Eater 1, Toukiden Kiwami and also Dauntless. The progression in this game was very nice and the online gameplay was a lot of fun with fully working crossplay, the creatures partially reminded me to some Pokemon. I hardly had any issues playing this game, no crashes or anything. I still can't fully understand why this game was put in the grave so soon after it's release.
It's vary rare I will infact write a review both good or bad, but this one has taken the last bit of patience I had with EA.
After playing the Dead Space remake which I thoroughly enjoyed, I had assumed the quality of games EA had made or had been involved in had finally improved but I digress.
Being a massive fan of the Monster Hunter games you can understand why I would look forward to playing this game however that's the thing the game is in such a buggy state that it's extremely frustrating to play, if it's working at all.
Multiplayer is even worse the constant drops in performance make trying to play with friends nigh on impossible. That's providing that you can connect to EA servers, which for some reason can never seem to connect and then when you manage to connect and play online you have about 15 minutes before you are back to playing single player.
Overall from what I have managed to play the game is ok, but it's just ok. At least that's my opinion. The story so far is rather dull and the characters I haven't found to have much personality.
Currently the gameplay could do with some improvements as there are issues with items snapping together so you can combine them.
Anyone with a critical opinion about this game will obviously upset the people that are enjoying the game, and while I am glad that others may not have experienced the same issues the patch notes can speak for themselves. Everything can't be blamed on having a "poor internet connection" or just "hating on EA" Otherwise I guess everyone is a pro Call of Duty player it's just the lag that is the problem.

Do you like MH? Kind of want a more fluid and exciting combat mechanic? Combined with an excellent arsenal of weapons and tools you can build in the heart of combat to give you the edge? Then have I got news for you!
Wild Hearts follows the well worn and well loved MH format of little warriors fight big monsters. Build new weapons, forge new armour, fight bigger monsters. Rinse and repeat. It's not revolutionary. But it is solid and fin to play. There are a few technical challenges (most ironed out in the first patch) but they aren't big enough to ruin what is a solidly enjoyable experience. 4/5 from me and I'll definitely be keeping an eye on any expansion into this universe they make.
