AL.com columnist Kyle Whitmire won the 2024 Silver Gavel Award for commentary from the American Bar Association.
Whitmire was awarded the prize for a series of columns after the state’s unsuccessful case asking the U.S. Supreme Court to gut the Voting Rights Act.
Each year, the “Silver Gavel Award for the Media and Arts” recognize work published or presented during the preceding year that have been exemplary in helping to foster the American public’s understanding of law and the legal system.
