Hi, I’m using the ‘performance’ plugin from the wordpress core theme that changes all uploaded images to webp. Your plugin does not consider this and keeps searching for .jpg. Can you update your plugin so that it searches for the correct image extension?

    Hi @melcarthus,

Thank you for contacting us! I have registered this as a feature request which means that this will be considered in the future when we are adding new features to the plugin. As we do get many user requests for features, we consider these depending on the number of user requests, feasibility, and the development time required for implementation.

If I can help with any other questions or concerns, please let me know.

    Thanks!

    Sorry for the late reply,

I personally think this is a simple update and an oversight as you hardcoded the file extensions to be .jpg, can’t you just not do that? so webp/jpg would automatically get chosen because wordpress can get the mime-type/extension of a file and you basicly use the wordpress image upload function to save the files inside wp-content don’t you?

I have to edit core files now to ‘hard-code’ webp everywhere instead of jpg.
