    All of a sudden I get GENERIC_ERROR on login to my site.

    Same account works fine on the web.

    Reset the password but same problem.

    Uninstalled and reinstalled the app but it’s not working.

    Where can I start to check what’s wrong?

    I don’t know if this is responsible for the error message, but you have entered 2 different domains under Settings > General. One of them is missing a “/” in the protocol. Take a look at the setting and change it. This may also solve the problem in the app.

    Thanks, I can see that but it cannot be changed, it’s greyed out.

    Then the specification is probably set via the wp-config.php file. You can find and edit the file via FTP. Your hoster’s support can help with this.

    Or you have a multisite installation. Then you would have to log in to the website administration for all websites and adjust the information there. If you don’t have access to it, contact the person who does.

    I logged on the database but the url is fine there. I have no idea where to change this.

    And tried to change in the file and upload it, no change in the address.

    What does the entry in the file wp-config.php look like?

    EDIT:
    Well, I’m stupid, the siteurl/homeurl is now solved.
    Still GENERIC_ERROR in the app.

    Is your WordPress and all plugins up to date?

    Have you deactivated all plugins as a test?

    Are there any anomalies under Tools > Site Health?

    WP and plugins are the latest .

    I have tried disabling all plugins but the same error occurs.

    Site status is good.

    The app takes a couple of seconds when I enter the site address, but the Could not add site Generic Error comes instant when I press Continue

    Hello @sirmacke – I was checking your site and it appears the XML-RPC is not accessible for your site. If you add /xmlrpc.php after your site URL, it shows error. It appears you are using CrowdSec security service from a plugin or from your hosting provider which is blocking the access to XML-RPC. Is it possible for you to disable this service completely (temporarily) and try again to add website in the App?

    We tried to disable the service yesterday, but still the same issue.
    I thought of mayby copy the site to another host to test but no idea how to do that.

    Ok, I setup a basic WP-site on my NAS, same theme and plugins, that works with the app.

    You can use All-in-One WP Migration and Backup plugin for this – this can help you to do this test.

    Also have you re-enabled the CrowdSec security service because for the site’s XML-RPC URL as i mentioned before, I still see the same issue.

    I moved the site to another host, much nicer features.

    I can now login to the site in the app, but everything just loads.
