Hello WordPress community,

I’m reaching out for some advice regarding a unique situation with my plugin, AI for SEO (https://wordpress.org/plugins/ai-for-seo/). I want to ensure I’m handling this ethically and in line with WordPress guidelines.

A user named “inweco” previously left a review and rating for my plugin. Recently, inweco has joined our development team and is now actively contributing to the plugin. My concern here is that having a team member’s review on our plugin page could be seen as a conflict of interest.

Is there a standard procedure for handling situations like this in the WordPress community? Any advice or direction from the WordPress team or community would be greatly appreciated.

Really,there’s nothing wrong with a team member (former or current) leaving a review *as long as they actually use* the plugin. The only issue is one of perception: If your reviews are topheavy with reviews from your own team, it looks suspiciously like you’re fluffing up the stars. I don’t see any issue here.

A user named “inweco” previously left a review and rating for my plugin. Recently, inweco has joined our development team and is now actively contributing to the plugin.

Make that user a plugin support role and that should take care of it.

Hello everyone,
my account has now been added as a “Support Rep” for the plugin but the review I previously posted for the plugin still exists. I tried to delete the review but it would not work. Can somebody please tell me how I can delete the review? Thanks in advance.

Do not delete/edit the review if it’s review you posted as a user.
