Want to permanently redirect a post without losing rank and traffic

    We are currently optimizing all possible URLs for our site as they are not Google-friendly. As far as my knowledge goes, we don’t have proper folders. However, they are now ranked and receiving traffic, and we want to change their URLs.

    For example, here is our old URL: https://www.uniondevelopers.com/union-greens/. Now, I want to change it to something like uniondevelopers.com/projects /union-greens/.

    If I simply redirect somehow with a 301, I would like to know if there is any risk of losing rank or traffic for these pages. Thanks in advance.

    Hello @iamrizwankhan,

    301 Redirect is always used to redirect users from old to new URLs.

    It also maintains the SEO ranking of the page and will inform search engines to redirect to new URLs and later search engine will update their record with new URLs in their ranking as well. So you don’t have to worry about that.

    One last question: if there are more than 20 pages needing their URLs changed, is there any plugin or method for bulk 301 redirection of all these pages or posts, or do I have to do it manually one by one? Thanks.

    Thanks to all for your kind words. I have updated all the URLs of pages and blog posts. Let’s see what happens next week with traffic and ranking.
