    I have tried several times to update the calendar plugin, but the site fails and I have to go back to the previous version.
    I did the test on another site of mine, which I use for testing, and there too, the site fails. I have different plugins on the two sites, the only thing the same is the theme, and I think that’s what makes everything go haywire. Unfortunately I don’t want to change the theme, nor the calendar plugin which I find excellent. But I will be forced to change the latter if there is nothing to do. Too bad, and it will be a big job for me to put all the events back on my calendar

    Do you have any specifics about what you mean by “the site fails”? Any specific errors? Can you describe what happens?

    It looks like you’re using the Hueman theme; if you can confirm that, I can take a look and see if there’s a conflict with the theme.

    Thanks for the attention. The problem occurs, on the test site, when I install and activate it. From the control panel everything seems fine but, when I go to the home page of the site, the site disappears, an error message appears from wordpress saying: A critical error has occurred on your website.     On the tempodipreghiera.it website I don’t try to update the plugin, because last time I had to restore the entire site with a backup. I hope you can understand what makes the plugin go haywire.

    I installed Hueman in my dev environment, but I haven’t been able to reproduce this issue. If you can provide any more information, it would be appreciated. The most specifically helpful information would be identifying the actual error. Try installing Query Monitor, by John Blackbourne, and see if it gives you more specific information about what’s happening.

    I installed the query monitor plugin you suggested this is the error it gives me:

    I can prevent that error, though I’m not sure how it would happen, since the variable passed into that function has a fallback value. It’s also not a fatal error, so the site should still be able to run with it occurring. Is that the only error you’re seeing?

    Yes that’s the only mistake I see. But the site goes into error and wordpress blocks my entire site, telling me that there is an error generated by the calendar plugin that I cannot update. I use Version 3.4.24 if I update everything goes haywire

    Hey Joe, can’t anything be done to fix the problem? I can’t update the plugin to version 3.5.9 if I do so the site goes down It’s a real shame, because I really like your plugin, but if it continues like this I’ll be forced to change my calendar. If something could be done I would be truly grateful

    I updated on the site I use for testing and which has the same theme and plugin. Nothing to do, WordPress blocks the entire site telling me that it is in error. Therefore the site cannot be used with the active calendar plugin. I’m so sorry I can’t resolve this, I’ll be forced to use another calendar plugin. Is there a way to export the data entered into your plugin so you can insert it into the new one? There are many events, and it would be a lot of work to insert them again by hand. I’m saddened because I really like your plugin

    If you’re able to share the actual error message with me, I might be able to address it. However, I don’t really have any information, and was not able to reproduce it with the same theme.

    Worpress doesn’t give me a way to understand what type of error it is. The site blocks me, I can only access the administrative panel and deactivate the plugin. I really don’t know what causes the error and have no way of figuring it out. At this point, either I don’t update the calendar, or I change. The problem remains of being able to make a backup of the events in order to transfer them to the new calendar, otherwise the work would be very tiring

    Does Query Monitor not provide *any* information on the front end for you? Do you have server logs that you can check for any information?

    I’d love to help; but the practicality is that this issue is not something that I can trigger just by using the same theme, so it presumably has something to do with an interaction with an additional plugin or a specific setting of the theme; I just have no way of knowing what to look at. I don’t have any other similar support requests, so I’m lacking any data to act on.

    As I already wrote here, I installed the query tracking plugin you suggested, this is the error it gives me:

    It doesn’t say anything else. This on the test site that I use for testing and which is completely identical to the real site, only the hosting changes: the test site is on Altervista, while the real site is on Aruba.

    If I install the update on the real site, everything goes haywire and I have to backup the entire site to restore everything. While on Altervista the problem is less because wordpress lets me access the administrative panel and I can deactivate the plugin without consequences for the site. I think the problem is in the hosting that I use for the site. So I think the only alternative is to abandon this plugin and put another one. The only thing is that I would like to recover all the data that I have already entered on My Calendar: is this possible?

    @tempopreghiera – Since you are using two different servers and one works and the other doesn’t, I would look to see which version of PHP the server that doesn’t work is using. If I recall correctly, the error you are getting is due to the PHP upgrade. The lastest stable version is 8.2. Check with your host Also, make sure that both are using the same version of WordPress and both are using the same version of the plugin. Good luck!

    Thanks Arbpen for your interest. The PHP version on Aruba hosting is 8.3
    On Altervista (test site) the PHP version is 8.2
    Unfortunately, I think, that the only solution is to change the calendar plugin, but I think about the effort of having to put all the events I have on My Calendar. Thanks again for your interest
