Hi @burnuser,
Thank you for contacting us.
I’m afraid that I cannot reproduce the issue with SVGs downloaded from the page you’ve shared. Here is a screenshot from my end. Would you mind letting me know if you have a specific file which I can test the issue from the same site?
Thanks!
Thank You for the fast response!
I made a second try on a completely new installation on https://instawp.com/
Same result: some images work, some not, like this one:

Hi @burnuser,
The same file seems to work without any errors on my end, which makes it very strange. Here is a screenshot.
I’ve also created a new installation using the latest version of File Upload Types but I could not reproduce the upload error. Can you confirm that the issue is reproducible when all other plugins are deactivated?
In case you’ve not checked for conflicts, please try the steps described in our detailed guide on how to test for plugin/theme conflicts.
Hope this helps!
It was the only installed Plugin on Instawp (gave it another try)
No chance to make it work there. (Other SVG Plugins work.)
Tried another sandbox provider: same result.
Both with PHP 7.4
Then I tried 2 different local WP environments (PHP 8.1) … and it works!
So I changed PHP 8.1 <=> 7.4 … and that is the problem! (Working with 8.1 and not with 7.4)
But one problem last even in the working environments: The preview image in the media library is only visible in grid view, but not in list view.
No problems of any kind with:

Hi @burnuser
Thank you for the additional details.
I was able to reproduce the issue with PHP 7.4 and I’ve passed this on to our development team for closer investigation.
We’ll circle back as soon as this issue is resolved.
Thank you!
