About 2-3? months ago, I pre-scheduled all my blog posts as per usual for when I’d be traveling. I’ve done it for years without issues. But they stopped auto-publishing. I could force publish by changing the time to an earlier one. I was traveling so just did it manually, unfortunately sometimes after my usual publishing time. This week, I noticed that the Stats aren’t giving me the details it used to (I’m on a free account) and saw the notice that because I have an e-shop, I would need to upgrade to commercial Jetpack. I’m wondering if that’s why my pre-scheduling stopped working. Do I have to pay for that too now? Or is it a different issue? Thank you.

    Hi Dominique,

It is indeed a different issue. While we have indeed made some changes to Jetpack’s Stats feature (it now requires a paid plan for commercial sites), this doesn’t impact any other aspect of your site. You should still be able to publish, update, and schedule posts just like before. Those are core WordPress features that will always be available to you.

That said, scheduled posts not publishing are unfortunately a relatively common WordPress issue. You’ll find many posts about this very issue on the WordPress support forums.

You could try to follow the recommendations in this thread to diagnose the problem. If you’re more technical, you could also try to install this plugin to debug the issue (see the FAQ at the bottom for more information on missed scheduled events). If you’d rather try to work around the problem instead, you can use a plugin like this one or this one.

I hope this helps. Do not hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions!

Thanks for the above. Still trying to resolve this issue. This week, my post did publish as scheduled, but the automated email to those subscribed led to an error page. It turns out it did this also when I manually published in recent times. The page says “Sorry, but the provided signature is not valid” and the url it goes to is this link instead of the blog post:

    Any ideas?

    Hi Dominique,

For this particular post you shared above it looks like this error was caused by an erroneous ' appended at the end of the post’s permalink.

I noticed that this seems to be the case though for all your post permalinks, so I wonder if there’s a plugin, theme or custom filter (eg the_permalink) that might be causing this behaviour.

If the issue with the erroneous ' gets resolved, the signature error you described above will be resolved too.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you @fgiannar for your reply. Since that is in the autogenerated email (I believe from JetPack) that gets sent to subscribers as soon as I publish a post, do you think this would be something Jetpack is creating vs. a different plugin on my site?

    (@fgiannar)

It’s worth noting that though the issue becomes apparent when trying to open a post sent via the autogenerated email, the underlying cause seems to be the actual post’s permalink.

I’m not aware of any similar issues caused by Jetpack therefore I’d suggest disabling all other plugins first and checking if the issue persists.

It might be also worth trying with a different theme.

Hope this helps! Please let us know if you need further assistance!
