Saved Layout: Order Direction no longer working

    The latest update 3.3.2 has reversed the order of ALL Saved Layouts (not just the one in the linked page above), and toggling the Order Direction from DESC to ASC is no longer having an effect. When testing with the downgraded version 3.3.1 (and no other software changes), the site reverts back to the desired (correct) order, and the ASC/DESC toggle is working (and visibly changing the thumbnail order within the editor).

    NOTE: The site does utilise the plugins “Category Order and Taxonomy Terms Order” and “Post Types Order” (and always has done) which I’m aware will prevent any RAND ordering, but disabling these two plugins has no effect on this Visual Portfolio issue.

    Hi there,

    In the recent updates, we introduced additional ordering options and inadvertently disrupted the sorting algorithm. However, we resolved this issue in the v3.3.5 plugin update. Have you checked this version?

    Thanks for the reply and for looking into this.

    I have just upgraded to 3.3.5 but unfortunately the issue still remains – the ASC/DESC toggle still has no effect, and the page(s) remain in the reverse order from that desired.

    Also, just to be sure, I have also just tested the VP plugin 3.3.5 (with ALL other plugins deactivated) on the WP 2024 theme, and the issue is still there. If you say the issue should be fixed with 3.3.5 (but it is not on our site) could there be something else (other than theme and plugins) that might be in conflict with our particular site? Hosting is SiteGround, PHP 7.4.33.

    I have now downgraded back to 3.3.1 which does not have this issue.

    Ohh, I just discovered that the Default order doesn’t work with the Order By option. We will fix this issue in version 3.3.6 today.

    Yes! Thank you, Nikita – all looks perfect. I’ll get the client to check the whole site for himself (he knows his pages better than me) but the Order Direction is all working again.
