    Hi,

I was contacted by one user who updated Widget Context to latest 1.2.0 automatically (using WordPress 3.8.31) and his site was broken.

In active_plugins was strange object started with i:10;O:28:"Preseto\WidgetContext\Plugin":3:{s... which is not parsed correctly by validate_file() WP function and throws error (there should be only array of strings).
It is probably caused by old WordPress version, but there should be any minimum WordPress version defined for this plugin to avoid updates by users and related problems. I made a reset of active_plugins and then I tried to activate Widget Context once again, but I was not allowed because of fatal error nonce (which is OK, nothing was broken, plugin was not activated).

    Thank you!

    Thanks for the notice, @pavelevap!

The Widget Context requires PHP version 5.6 or higher. It should work with every version of WordPress down to 3.0.

Could you please confirm the PHP version running on the server?

Hi, I am not sure which PHP version was there before updates, but I switched it to 7.3.x (maybe there was 5.6 or 5.3).

Everything works now after updates, but users with older WordPress (for example 3.8.x in our case) can update Widget Context plugin (without any restriction related to PHP version) to latest 1.2.0 which can break their site.
