We’re noticing that saving a post causes it to lose it’s order and we need to then go back to the list of all posts in wp-admin and place it back.

This has been happening only in the past few weeks so we think it might be something related to Core 6.x.

    Any ideas?

    Hi @schutzsmith,

Just tested this on my end using the latest WP version and I am not able to replicate it.

It might be an issue caused by something else on the site.
I recommend installing this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/
After you install and activate the above plugin it has a Troubleshooting mode which allows you to have a vanilla WordPress session, where all plugins are disabled, and a default theme is used, but only for your user – your visitors will still see the normal website.

Go to its troubleshoot mode and only activate Simple Custom Post Order and see if the same happens with a default WordPress theme (Twenty Twenty-One for example) and no other plugins.

Please let me know how it goes and what you find!

    All the best,
    Mihaela

it works fine on a brandnew installation but not with all our plugins and themes. I don’t see any errors happening so there is no way for me to know what exactly is causing this.

We’ve also noticed that if someone is viewing the pages list in the “Mine” view that the sorting gets messed up if they moved something based on what they are seeing, even if the parent and all children are showing.

Are there known issues with the Mine view?

Have there been issues with Pantheon server environment?

    Thanks!

BTW, I’m happy to spin up a dev environment to take a look at if you have some other way to know what the conflict might be.

That would be great to search for the conflict – creating a dev environment and then disabling all plugins and reactivating them one by one until you find the culprit. This is the best solution unfortunately because there are no error message to point us in the right direction.

I am not sure I understand what the ‘mine’ view is. Could you send me a screenshot?
    Thank you!

    Warmly,
    Mihaela
