When using the replace youtube video by thumbnail option, the double click is necessary on mobile, because the Youtube API doesn’t allow to autoplay the video after that.
If you want only one click, I suggest to only use lazyload iframes, and not the replace youtube by thumbnail option.
Hello,
Thank you very much for the quick reply.
I tried, unfortunately, I have no optmization after that. 🙁
Greetings Ralf
Can you show me a page with an iframe and only the lazyload iframes option activated?
Hello yes I can only have the Iframes & videos enabled does not bring speed.
I activate both functions I have speed without end.
Only iframes & videos
Iframes & videos enabled
Here is a test with both functions Replace Youtube videos by thumbnail and Iframes & Videos.
But dan I have to make unfortunately 2 clicks in the mobile version.
Iframes & Videos and Replace Youtube videos by thumbnail

Have both activated again If you want to turn it off again.
Unfortunately here we can’t do anything more. It’s a limitation of Youtube for mobile that doesn’t allow a direct autoplay when using this method.
OK, thank you 🙁 I have to remove it unfortunately

Hi, a few of questions about this topic.
– It is possible two avoid two clicks on desktop?
– What it is the difference between lazy load for youtube with the thumbnail option and do it by iframe.
Thank you.
Hi,
You should have only one click on desktop, as the auto-play should trigger.
Replacing the video by the thumbnail prevents any load of Youtube assets until you click on the thumbnail.
If you use the iframe option, youtube assets will be loaded once the iframe comes into the screen, even if you don’t click the video.
Thanks for your reply,
I’m having to do one click to load the YouTube video UI, and another one to play the video.
– I thought the main goal was to not load the YouTube Iframe at first. So if I use the iframe option, there is a optimization? and if there is, could you exploain/show the what are the size/kind of optimization in each level.
Thanks again.
Do you have an example URL with the issue?
The iframe option is still an optimization, as the iframe is not loaded until it comes into the viewport.
Thanks for your reply, I just needed to enable the autoplay parameter, to work with just on click. Thank you.
