Looking for a better buddypress

hello I’m using buddy press because it makes me capable of giving users the possibility to edit their profiles (upload photos and write bio) and it also offers the possibilitie to private message them. However there? is no notification showing up when someone gets a private message. Do you know a plug-in that does everything mentioned above and make pop up notifications when you get a pm?

Also I have been trying to install a forum but it would not take existing accounts in count. The forum I’ve installed forces users to create another account. Is there a plug-in that does everything mentioned above? Except maybe for the forum.
