I was directed to you for help by WordPress forum (James Huff) regarding how to fix my autoplay function of carousel which operates correctly on page in edit mode but is static and only operating manually when seen by public view of website page: ‘Short Stories’. The carousel is at the top of page and is the first block. It was working until I had a malicious code problem and once that was corrected, I converted website to 2024 theme and the page in question does not operate in this new theme as is evident from public view. Currently, in settings/writing/default post format is set at ‘Link’ of several options and not sure if that it correct. Also, on page in question, the cascading of how slideshow is built doesn’t look correct with too many ‘columns’ and ‘galleries’. Please advise.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Jetpack Mechanic 🚀

I’m sorry to hear you’ve run into this issue. That’s indeed a known issue with the Slideshow block today. We found the source of the problem and fixed it yesterday, via this bug fix. The fix will be included in the next version of Jetpack, currently scheduled to be released in the first week of June.

If you’d rather not wait that long, you could install the Jetpack Beta plugin on your site ; once installed, it will give you the option to run the “Bleeding edge” version of the Jetpack plugin on your site, and thus run a version of Jetpack that includes the fix. However, and as its name implies, “Bleeding Edge” is not the stable version of the plugin. I would not personally recommend running the plugin on a production site, since you will be testing the early version of the plugin, before any changes get tested by our Beta testers.

If you can wait until the beginning of June, the slideshow’s autoplay option should start working again as soon as you update Jetpack.

    I hope this helps!
