As the title says. I have manually updated one of the plugins on my site by uploading a zip file and choosing the option to replace files/plugin within already existing folder after unzipping.

When I navigate to WordPress plugins within WP plugin dashboard plugin version is listed correctly. However, when I navigate to Plugin report, it is still listed as previous version.

Plugin in question is https://wordpress.org/plugins/mega-addons-for-visual-composer/ Don’t get confused by its description saying last update was 5 months ago and tested up to WP 5.9.5 This update was published 2 weeks ago and most likely they haven’t updated plugin description yet.

Is there any way I can make/force “plugin report” to refresh newly installed versions listing?

I am still on WP 6.1.1, PHP 7.4.33 on Namecheap hosting.

Not sure if I have missed the option “Clear cached plugin data and reload” or it has showed up after I have deactivated, uninstalled and installed plugin again.

After doing so, plugin report has updated “mega addon” plugin version (now I have 4.3.0 Vs 4.2.7 available lol). Since they have not officially updated their plugin description/stats, report still shows last update was 5 months ago. That being said, I have left them a support ticket / suggestion to correct that.

Sorry if I made you any hassle. My solution might not be the best but it worked so maybe it will help someone else too.

    Marking thread as resolved.

For performance reasons, Plugin Report caches the information ot gathers about a plugin. You can use the “Clear cached plugin data and reload” link at the top of the page to force Plugin Report to fetch new data.

For its data, Plugin Report relies on a combination of the plugin’s bundled readme file, and information from the wp.org plugin repository. If either supplies information that is incorrect, that data will be shown.

It looks like this particular plugin is available in the repository, but has stopped or delayed publishing updates there. The last code commit was three months ago.

This can confuse Plugin Report, and there’s very little we can do about that.
