• Plugin authors appear to have a good support system but the product did not meet basic standards of what a CRM should do. My review of the plugin after using so that all stakeholders know what to test before implementing. This review is as of 11.01.2024. Hope this review helps people in deciding. THis review will change if these glaring issues are promptly corrected

    1. You CANNOT EXCLUDE any customers from a segment list that you create. If you have many customers with say a common tag you cannot add a condition to exclude any customers from that list. Thus you can make list only to include customers but you cannot make any exceptions. eg: Say you have a segment of customers who purchased Product A, B and C but in that list you want to refine it to exclude customers who have a cancelled orders or say you want to exclude customers who have a tag like “blacklisted” or “bogus” . then there is no such option to exclude such customers. Instead if you try to workaround by include customers who are no longer buying the products, your segment list will instead of removing customers from the existing list.- list will get added with the entire list of users who have not even purchased that product! because it will add the entire list of customers with cancelled orders to your segment list – a feature expected the most basic CRM. Else its not a CRM
    2. The Add tag functionality is not working properly. Tags created in one menu will not appear/not be seen in another place if you have say over 50 tags. I have 100 products. Jetpack CRM created automatically created tags for all those 100 products. Then Go to tags under contact and create a tag manually. Then go to edit contact to add that tag to a contact. The manually created tag will not show up. Well if I type a tag name the created tag should show up to become available for selection. It does not.
    3. Contact have other options like add log, add task etc but no option to add tags in that list. – Instead the existing way is cumbersome to list all customers then select and open the customer, then click on Edit contact, then go to add tag – only to find that the functionality is not working as it should have as eplained above
    4. The Client portal UI and the filters UI is not as advertised. The advertised one is very beautiful UI seemingly having good features but actually it is different from what is advertised. So at first it will feel as if your wordpress set up has a problem or conflict only to realize that the plugin is advertising a different UI than what actually is.
    5. The actual customer filter does not appear to have the features of the one advertised. eg you cannot apply more than one filter to filter out a list of customers. You can get a list of customers by applying only a single filter at a time. But the advertising gives you a different showcase and UI. Why would I need a CRM to get a list of customers with only a single filter and why would I have gone for a CRM which does not have what is advertised?
    6. I found that the plugin is not extendible as we would want a CRM to be. No documentation on hooks and filters available in the software that I can use to extend it or integrate it with existing software.
    7. The API does not have a way to UPDATE ANY DATA in CRM. you CANNOT UPDATE any data in CRM using API. You can only create. Exampleif I want to update customers details you cannot using API.
    8. If data of any particular customer is updated in wordpress there is no way to auto sync that with the CRM for that customer. Moreove the woosync also will not sync your updated data or changes in any field unless a new order is placed by that customer.
    9. These points are just what I remember and what I had time to check thoroughly after spending days and hours. I am sure I can find many many more issues. Overall this CRM with the prowress of the team has stupendous possibility to become the best ever CRM that existed but for some unknow reason or purpose that has been curbed. So you will need your developer to be customizing this to become suitable for practical use.

    Hi there, @arvindve,

Thanks for the thorough review of our CRM. We appreciate the critical feedback, and we welcome them with positivity, given also your overall positive opinion about it and its potential.

Since we have discussed some of the above mentioned points via email, I’d like to clarify some of them, so others can benefit from our constructive conversation:

You CANNOT EXCLUDE any customers from a segment list that you create.

Thanks to your notes, we now have a feature request for this — still no ETA for the feature to be implemented, but it’s been added to our pipeline.

Well if I type a tag name the created tag should show up to become available for selection. It does not.

This falls into an existing feature request we opened a little while ago; our product team hasn’t prioritised that, so it’s not at the top of our development roadmap at the moment.

I am not sure I’m following you on this. Where did you see a UI advertised in our page that’s different than the one you see upon setting up Client Portal, or activating Client Portal Pro? We’re happy to straighten out any doubts about it.

We have amended the UI screenshot in the landing page of the advertised feature, so thanks for highlighting that.

I also want to point out that we have never allowed more than one filter at a time, so it’s never worked like that in our CRM; for now, you need to create the specific segment you want.

If data of any particular customer is updated in wordpress there is no way to auto sync that with the CRM for that customer. Moreove the woosync also will not sync your updated data or changes in any field unless a new order is placed by that customer.

You can sync any data changed in a WordPress customer account using the WordPress Utilities extension in Jetpack CRM. This feature allows you to automatically import WordPress users without WooCommerce orders, and any orders created by existing Jetpack CRM contacts will be linked automatically. No duplicate contacts will be made.

Hope the above clarifies things around. Thanks again for spending time to test our plugin, and leave this review 🙂
