• Hi, I am using Twenty Twenty (TT) on my blog now and I tried to switch to Twenty Twenty Two (TT2) but experienced several issues. The most annoying problem is that images seem to be displayed always in full size. Whilst on TT uploaded images were automatically scaled down in order to fit the width of a post, this is not happening with TT2. Is there a way to fix this? I’m not posting a link to my blog because anyway TT2 is disabled now, since I can’t leave it activated with all the issues I am having. Thanks in advance.

P.S.: There is no difference between images with a custom size and images without.

  • Hi there! Are these images added with the Classic editor by any chance? We recently found a bug that would cause this for images added there. The fix should be coming in the next Gutenberg plugin release, and hopefully migrated into the next point release for WordPress too:

We never used the block editor, so yes indeed. Will the next Gutenberg plugin release fix the issue also for posts already published in the blog or only for the new ones?

It will fix the issue for all images, even if they’ve already been posted. So you shouldn’t need to take any action at all.

I tried out the Gutenberg plugin and I understand it is not yet providing a fix for my problem. However I found out there is a conflict with a plugin (called Secondary Title) I am using. So, unless this problem can be solved, too, the Gutenberg fix won’t be a viable solution for me.

Plus, I wanted to ask whether I will be able to use the classic editor when Gutenberg is activated, because I already tried the Gutenberg editor time ago and I could not get used to it (probably it’s not only me… otherwise the plugin wouldn’t have such a poor rating).

The Gutenberg fix is on track to be included in the next WordPress release, so you won’t need the plugin active to get the fix once that happens.

And yes, you can continue to use the classic editor as usual, by using the Classic Editor plugin.
