• Hi, I’m a programmer, I’m using WordPress to create a programming site.

I use the code block to show the code in my posts. The question is that sometimes I copy the code or some parts of the code from other pages. Google takes this into as duplicate content. or the content that is below this label imnores it I need to know this.

  • I believe Google treats content within code blocks the same as other post content for SEO purposes. You should use your best judgement, though — duplicating large identifiable chunks of content may affect your SEO, but occasionally reusing small snippets in a few places should be fine.

Well that was my idea but I passed my post through a plagiarism check with the url so that it would scan the entire page as Google does and I completely ignore the texts of the block and mark my articles as unique. I imagine it uses the same metrics as google. I also think that it would not make sense to see the text inside the blocks at least not with the tag “code” for example if I write an article on how to show an alert in javascript it is something standard and there are other posts that use the same code then I think it makes no sense to mark it as duplicate content
