• I bought my domain yesterday and let the wordpress AI make the homepage of my domain, but now that I’ve created the destination page, I can’t change it. I already selected the page I want in settings, reading and selected static page.

I have already deactivated all plugins and even deleted all other pages and posts that were made automatically when I bought the domain and opened wordpress for the first time. Even with AI posts deleted, they remain on the destination page. I asked for help with my domain hosting,
but they couldn’t solve it and said to come and ask for help here.

I don’t know if this information is useful, but my domain is from Brazil and has Latin characters, “ç”.

  • Hi, lumazita, & welcome. Have you tried clearing your browser cache?

I did everything I was advised, except about Database Corruption, because I don’t know how to do that, and it still didn’t work:

” – Clear browser cache: Sometimes your browser’s cache can prevent you from seeing the updated changes. Clear your browser’s cache and cookies and refresh the page to see if the correct static page appears.

    • Resave settings: Sometimes changes may not take effect immediately. After selecting the static page in the reading settings, click on the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page.
    • Check theme settings: Some themes have their own settings related to homepage and layout. Be sure to check if your theme has any specific homepage related settings. In that case, adjust these settings accordingly.
    • Permalink settings: Incorrect permalink settings can sometimes cause issues with page routing. To verify this, go to Settings > Permalinks and make sure you have selected a suitable permalink structure.
    • Server Cache: If your hosting provider uses server-side caching, it may be caching the old version of the page. Clear your server cache through your hosting dashboard or contact your hosting provider’s support for assistance.
    • Database Corruption: In rare cases, database corruption can lead to issues like this. You may need to repair your WordPress database using a plugin like “WP-DBManager”.
    • Check for conflicting plugins or themes: Even if you have disabled your plugins, there may be a conflict with the plugins theme or residual data. Switch to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-One) and see if the issue persists. If not, it might be related to your theme.
    • Editing the theme files: If you are comfortable with editing theme files, you can manually set the front page in your theme’s front-page.php template file.”

In the wordpress settings and in the theme settings, the correct static page is selected, but when you access the website link, the landing page is still the wrong one, I have already cleared the browser and website cache and nothing.

lumazita, so I’ve got 2 problems. The first is I don’t know Portuguese, and the 2nd is I don’t know what’s supposed to be there.

Have you disabled all plugins and used a default WordPress theme (they begin with ‘twenty’)?
